Hello, Ellen -

We hope you’re staying safe and enjoying your spring break, despite these unusual circumstances.  Teachers and school administrators have been working tirelessly and we commend you for your hard work!

At Kaleidoscope, we’ve implemented ways to provide support to LGBTQ+ teens while they’re stuck at home and feeling isolated from friends.  We have two fun and free online groups that are currently up and running!  Please pass this information along so that we can help LGBTQ+ teens connect and be supported during this challenging time.  As always, our groups are open to all teens who want to connect supportively, including those who are neurodivergent by being on the autism spectrum.

Participants are asked to RSVP by emailing Laura Harwood at [email protected]

Pride Club
Wednesdays | 4:00-5:00 PM | Online
(Weekly)
Like a GSA – from the comfort of home!  Connect with other LGBTQ+ teens and allies virtually with Kaleidoscope. Ages 12-17.

Creative Expressions Group
Next one on 4/16 | 6:00-7:00 pm | Online
(1st and 3rd Thursday of the month)

LGBTQ+ youth and their allies are encouraged to present an original creation, whether it be something written, a song, a dance or a piece of art - that is appropriate to share with others, then receive and give encouraging support to and from peers. Ages 12-17.

More fun/free groups and events are also in the works!  Soon, we will host Watch Parties for LGBTQ+ teens, informational and supportive online groups for parents/caregivers interested in becoming stronger allies, and more!   We’ll let you know more information about those events and groups as they become finalized.

Thanks for helping us help LGBTQ+ teens!

This is the link to the book, This Book is Gay, that we talked about at the meeting on 1/11/17.
