Attendance Office
Why Attendance Matters
There’s a very strong correlation between good attendance and success in school. Every day or partial absence negatively affects our budget and the ability to provide quality instruction, materials, and opportunities for your students.
Armstrong's and the Los Angeles Unified School District's goal is for all students to have
96% or higher
attendance throughout the entire school year.
That means no more than 7 days of absences per school year.
CLEARING ABSENCES
Per State Law {EC: 48260-8273} Notes are required.
Anything other than a medical/illness, court, or funeral reasons are unexcused and count towards truancy.
The district automatically generates a letter to inform parents/guardians of truancy.
PLEASE NOTE: If the student is absent five (5) days or more a medical note is required.
If a student is absent for a length of time due to medical/illness, please notify the attendance office.
