U. S. History (Period 2,4,6)

In second semester we are continuing our study of the Constitution and the roles of the 3 branches. We are delving into the foundation of the American political system and the ways in which citizens participate (Early Republic). In looking at the New Nation (post  George Washington), we will attempt to understand the ideals of the people. Eeks! The U.S. Will become involved in a  war w Britain once again. So the theme to examine at that point will be foreign policy. Remember early on I said one on-going theme will be Westward expansion which begins formally w the acquisition of the Louisiana Territory. Another themes we will peruse will be slavery and women's rights... We end our   exploration of  our nation's history this semester with fighting the CIvil War & Reconstruction!
