SUMMER HOMEWORK??!!  (no, not really! :)
Here are a few ideas I shared with students about what to do over the summer to help them keep their brains working and get ready for seventh grade.  It was a bright goldenrod piece of paper with a roots chart attached, AND I also taped their usernames and passwords for the ReadTheory.org reading comprehension program to their papers for them!

- This can count for EITHER English OR History 

- It has the potential to raise your grade a couple points if you do a great job on it

- make sure you take NOTES in your OWN WORDS, write notes on NOTE CARDS for your presentation, create a visual aid with images (remember your source list!), and REHEARSE what you are going to say!

HISTORY SPRING VACATION HOMEWORK (due 4/22)

  1. Chandragupta and Asoka Biography Bubble Maps (Ch 4 sect 3) You can create one bubble map on each side of a piece of paper. Read about them where they are highlighted AND read their biographies! Choose the most important information to include (about 10 bubbles each)
  2. Work on the Ch. 4 India Notes Packet. This will be due about a week after the break. Please note: I have the review worksheets and you will get them back after the break. Also, we have not completed the Indian Achievements G. O., Ch. 4.3 review worksheet, nor the Ch. 4 Review assignment. We will work on those in class after the break.

*****EXTRA CREDIT due 4/22- must be a FINAL DRAFT product! This means you have edited, revised, and typed or rewritten it neatly in blue or black ink!

**1. India Rhyming Song or Rap- Complete a rhyming song or rap about what we have learned about Ancient India. Include, underline, and show the meaning of at least 10 vocabulary words from the chapter. Remember: the rhymes go at the ends of lines and there should not be off topic information.

**2. Creative Research Project- Choose a few of the people and/ or achievements of Ancient Egypt or Ancient India that interest you. Do some more research about them from at least 2 sources OTHER THAN the textbook (use the LAUSD Digital Library, the links on the textbook’s website, and/ or WebPath Express from the library’s website). Include and underline at least 8 vocabulary words from the chapter in your project. Be creative, add visuals as well as written information, document sources used, and write everything in your own words! Create one of the following to show and tell about the information you learn:
