Title I

The purpose of Title I is to ensure that all students have access to a fair, equitable, and high-quality education while working to close academic achievement gaps. Schools receiving Title I federal funding use these supplemental resources to improve student achievement and provide additional academic support. Funds may also support professional development, student services, and other programs that promote student success.

Parent and family involvement is an important part of Title I. Families are encouraged to participate in the planning and implementation of school programs by serving on the School Site Council (SSC), helping develop parent and family engagement policies and school-parent compacts, attending conferences and workshops, and volunteering in school activities.
